Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about ScribeMic AI's hardware requirements, pricing, 100% offline and 100% private technology.
Yes, your data is 100% private. ScribeMic AI is designed from the ground up to be a completely offline tool. We do not use cloud servers, and your voice data never leaves your physical hard drive. In fact, you can completely disconnect your computer from the internet and the software will still work exactly as it was designed to.
You only need a brief internet connection to initially download the software and activate your license key. Once activated, you do not need the internet at all. Whether you are on a remote flight, at a cabin in the woods, or facing an internet outage, ScribeMic will dictate flawlessly without an internet connection.
Yes! ScribeMic AI is universally compatible with all kinds of software on Windows. It works seamlessly across MS Word, Google Docs, Outlook, and highly specialized Medical EHR or Legal software without requiring any complex setup.
To ensure a blazing-fast experience where your complete dictation is transcribed in seconds, we recommend using a modern computer with an Intel 9th Gen processor (or newer) and at least 8GB of RAM. While it will run on older hardware, your processing speed is best optimized on our recommended specs.
When you buy ScribeMic AI, you own that version of the software forever—no recurring SaaS fees or hidden monthly subscriptions.
Your purchase also includes 12 months of free compatibility updates. This ensures your software remains compatible with standard Windows updates during your first year without any extra fees.
You can continue to use the software you purchased indefinitely, and it will never ask you for money to keep functioning! However, Windows operating systems constantly evolve.
If a major Windows update released years down the line completely breaks software compatibility, your older version may no longer work. We do not sell annual maintenance passes; instead, you will simply have the option to purchase the newest, updated version of ScribeMic AI at an exclusive discounted price for returning customers.
Because our one-time price is highly competitive—often costing less than just a few months of a competitor's monthly subscription—repurchasing a brand-new, updated license built for the newest operating systems years later remains an absolute bargain.
ScribeMic AI is powered by advanced, highly robust AI models known for industry-leading speech recognition. It easily adapts to regional accents and professional jargon.
Because it processes your audio in batches—reading the whole sentence before outputting the text—it uses the context of your words to deliver incredibly accurate results.
Because each edition of ScribeMic AI is a separate, standalone application heavily optimized for different hardware capacities, there is no "in-app" upgrade button. If you start with ScribeMic Lite and later buy a powerful new computer, you will need to purchase a separate license for the Pro or Ultra edition to take advantage of the heavier neural networks.
However, because our pricing is kept incredibly low compared to ongoing monthly subscriptions, grabbing a new key for an upgraded tier remains highly cost-effective.
Because we price ScribeMic AI as a highly competitive, low-cost one-time purchase rather than an expensive monthly subscription, each license key is strictly valid for one (1) computer.
If you have a desktop at home and a laptop for travel, you will need to purchase a secondary key for your second device.
ScribeMic AI works beautifully with standard microphones, including the built-in microphone on most modern laptops! You do not need to buy expensive, specialized dictation hardware.
However, for the absolute highest accuracy in noisy environments (like a busy coffee shop), a standard USB headset or dedicated desktop microphone is recommended.
ScribeMic AI was custom-built and heavily optimized for standard Windows processors (Intel and AMD x64 architecture). While the software may run on newer ARM processor-based Windows PCs using Windows' built-in emulation, we have not officially tested it on these devices and cannot guarantee dictation speed or full compatibility.
For the absolute best, lightning-fast experience, we strongly recommend using a computer with a standard Intel or AMD processor.
